Local SEO Audit Checklist

A local SEO-specific PDF checklist that keeps GBP, NAP, citations, local landing pages and review signals separate from the generic SEO audit template cluster.

The Local SEO Audit Checklist is a print-safe PDF for reviewing systems that affect local organic and map visibility. The verified source covers Google Business Profile fields, NAP consistency, citations, local landing pages, review signals and action handoff. Use it for a local business or location-focused review; do not use this page as a substitute for the generic SEO Audit Checklist.

Keeping the local checklist narrow is intentional. It helps searchers who actually need local SEO avoid a generic audit resource, while generic “SEO audit checklist” queries stay with the broader checklist page.

What the local checklist covers

  • Google Business Profile fields relevant to the location being reviewed
  • NAP consistency across the business information being audited
  • Citations and the location data they contain
  • Local landing pages used to represent locations or service areas
  • Review signals that need to be reviewed as part of the local search presence
  • Action handoff so open issues can move from review into implementation

Who should use it

The checklist is intended for SEO specialists, consultants, agencies and business teams reviewing one or more local business locations. It is useful before a location audit, during recurring local SEO QA or when a team needs a consistent set of local checks across locations.

It is not the best choice for a site-wide technical audit, a general content audit or a broad SEO audit without local-business requirements. Those intents should stay on their own pages instead of being absorbed by this local asset.

How to use the checklist

  1. Define the location scope. Record which business, location or location group is being reviewed.
  2. Verify business information. Compare the relevant location data rather than assuming consistency from one source.
  3. Review GBP and citation evidence. Keep observed differences or unresolved records visible for follow-up.
  4. Check local pages in context. Review whether the page serves the location and user need rather than treating the presence of a city name as sufficient evidence of quality.
  5. Record review-related observations carefully. Separate factual platform observations from assumptions about why visibility changed.
  6. Move open actions into a tracking system. If several locations need ongoing management, use the Local SEO Audit Template rather than turning the PDF into a spreadsheet substitute.

Limitations

  • The checklist does not prove that a specific local ranking change was caused by any single item.
  • Platform fields and local-search products can change, so current platform documentation should be checked when a step depends on a specific feature.
  • A geographic word in a query is not automatically evidence that the user needs local-business SEO. Low-volume geo-modified queries should not cause this page to broaden back into generic audit content.
  • The PDF is a review checklist, not a location-by-location tracking workbook.
